OUR HISTORY

In the early 2000s, we were a group of people linked by volunteerism and our love for our fellow citizens. Through our active involvement in search and rescue operations in one of the biggest rescue organisations in Greece that operates both domestically and internationally, we have offered our volunteer services over the past 20 years with all our forces. However, we quickly understood that only by training a large number of individuals we can make our world safer.

Αποφασίσαμε την αγάπη μας για την εκπαίδευση αλλά και τον Άνθρωπο να το κάνουμε επάγγελμα και έτσι δημιουργήθηκε αυτός ο οργανισμός.

All our trainers are certified by the European Resuscitation Council (ERC.EDU) and NAEMT (PHTLS).

WHO WE ARE

Elena Macha (Founder - program manager)

Elena began her volunteer work with a rescue group in 2002. In 2004, she assisted in the formation of the organisation's first aid department, and with other volunteers she began to deliver training and be certified in Prehospital Care by international organisations.

She started volunteering at the Emergency Department of the AHEPA University Hospital of Thessaloniki in 2005 with the intention of obtaining experience, and he did so for the following ten years. She took part in search and rescue activities in Greece at the same time. She has been a key contributor to the writing of first aid manuals since 2007 in hercapacity as Head of the First Aid Department. She also developed a multi-level training programme for volunteers with the goal of providing extensive and updated training.

She served on the organising committee for three Panhellenic conferences on first aid, which included EKAB trainers, nurses, emergency doctors, and volunteer rescuers.

She participated in the organization of large exercises in Greece and abroad on the topic of search and rescue in ruins after an earthquake disaster with international participation from Great Britain, Turkey and other countries, which were based on the INSARAG UN protocols.

She has decades of experience managing first aid incidents from addressing emergencies at sporting events, artistic events, musical events at the Thessaloniki International Fair, to providing medical support for a period of two years at the football games of PAE ARIS.

She is a course organizer from the European Resuscitation Council (ERC), and a PHTLS instructor (NAEMT).

Since 2006, she has participated in numerous trainings with volunteers and citizens all over Greece, as well as companies such as COSMOTE, IKEA, INTERAMERICAN, LIDL, PFIZER, PELOPAC etc.

Maria Tsoukapa (in charge of educational programs for children)

Maria started her first aid training in 2014. She joined a volunteer organisation after a year and continued her thorough first aid training there. In 2017, she was admitted into the training team of the first aid department and at the same time she continued her training with certifications from international organizations in Pre-hospital care.

From 2016 and for three years he participated voluntarily in the emergency department of the AHEPA University Hospital of Thessaloniki.

She has prior experience participating in first aid teams for artistic events, mountain running competitions on Mt Olympus, and musical performances at the Thessaloniki International Fair.

She is a first aid trainer certified from the European Resuscitation Council (ERC) and holds TFR and PHTLS (NAEMT) certifications.

In the last five years, she has participated in numerous trainings with volunteers and citizens in various regions of Greece.

Κατερίνα Εφραίμογλου (Courses Coordinator- Yπεύθυνη εκπαιδεύσεων Κρήτης)

Η Κατερίνα ξεκίνησε το 2009 να εκπαιδεύεται στις πρώτες βοήθειες και την νοσηλευτική φροντίδα σε εθελοντική οργάνωση στο Ηράκλειο Κρήτης.

Από το 2010 και για 5 χρόνια  προσέφερε εθελοντικά υπηρεσίες στο Τμήμα Επειγόντων Περιστατικών του Πανάνειου Βενιζέλειου Νοσοκομείου στο Ηράκλειο.

Συμμετείχε σε δράση για την παροχή υγειονομικής φροντίδας σε παραμεθόρια περιοχή με την εθελοντική οργάνωση «Γιατροί του Αιγαίου».

Το 2012 γίνεται μέλος σε εθελοντική διασωστική οργάνωση ενώ παράλληλα εκπαιδεύεται και πιστοποιείται από διεθνείς οργανισμούς στην Προνοσοκομειακή Φροντίδα (ERC, EFR, TFR, PHTLS).

Γίνεται επικεφαλής του τμήματος πρώτων βοηθειών και μέλος της εκπαιδευτικής ομάδας του τμήματος πρώτων βοηθειών της οργάνωσης. Λαμβάνει μέρος σε επιχειρήσεις έρευνας και διάσωσης, στην διοργάνωση εκπαιδευτικών ασκήσεων, και ήταν υπεύθυνη για την υγειονομική κάλυψη επειγόντων περιστατικών για τις εκδηλώσεις που αναλάμβανε η οργάνωση (αθλητικές, καλλιτεχνικές, κοινωνικές κ.α.).

Έχει πιστοποιηθεί ως εκπαιδεύτρια από το Ευρωπαϊκό Συμβούλιο Αναζωογόνησης (ERC).

Είναι απόφοιτος (2019) του Δημόσιου Ινστιτούτου Επαγγελματικής Κατάρτισης Γενικού Νοσοκομείου Βενιζέλειου Πανάνειου για την ειδικότητα βοηθού νοσηλευτικής γενικής νοσηλείας (πιστοποίηση Ε.Ο.Π.Π.Ε.Π.)

Έχει εκπαιδεύσει πλήθος πολιτών, μαθητές, στελέχη εταιρειών και εθελοντές στην Ελλάδα.

Danai-Fotini Mavroudi (first aid instructor)

Danae began her First Aid training in 2007, and in 2008 she joined a volunteer rescue organisation. In 2009, she entered the organization's first aid department training team while also beginning to train and get certified in Prehospital Care by international organisations.

In 2010, she started volunteering on call at the Emergency Department of the AHEPA University Hospital of Thessaloniki and continued her activity at the hospital for the next 10 years. At the same time, she participated in search and rescue operations in Greece.In the same year, she was a vital connection in the creation of a group of first aid manuals and the development of a multi-level training programme for volunteers with the goal of thorough and up-to-date training.

She was on the organising committees for three Panhellenic first aid conferences attended by EKAV trainers, nurses, emergency doctors, and volunteer rescuers, as well as four Panhellenic mountain rescue conferences attended by mountain rescue organisations from around the world.

She has several years of experience as the head of first aid teams at musical events during the Thessaloniki International Fair, sporting events, artistic events, and for two years at ARIS Football Club matches

She is a trainer certified by the European Resuscitation Council and a PHTLS trainer (NAEMT).

Since 2009, she has participated in numerous trainings with volunteers and citizens throughout Greece as well as companies such as COSMOTE, IKEA, INTERAMERICAN, LIDL, PFIZER, PELOPAC etc.

Kostantinos Efthymiopoulos (first aid instructor)

Kostas began his training in First Aid in 2014 as a volunteer in a rescue organization in Heraklion, Crete.

In 2017, he joined the first aid training team in Crete, where he trained citizens and volunteers.

Furthermore, as part of his ongoing education, he is qualified as a rescuer by international organisations (NAEMT, EFR, ERC), while he is a European Resuscitation Council-certified trainer (ERC).

He has participated in exercises and search and rescue operations in Crete and in other regions of Greece.

Michalis Tsoushis (instructor)

Michalis started his first aid training in 2016 as a member of a volunteer organization where he continued to receive intensive first aid training.

In 2017, he was accepted as an auxiliary member of the first aid department's training team, while also continuing his education with certificates from international organisations in pre-hospital care. He has been volunteering on call at the AHEPA University Hospital of Thessaloniki's Emergency Department since 2017, and in 2019 he took over the planning and coordination of the volunteers on call.

He has expertise in participating in first aid coverage teams at events and has been planning and coordinating them in a volunteer organization since 2019.

He is a first aid instructor from the European Resuscitation Council (ERC) and has the ERC’s certifications in Immediate Life Support and Pediatric Basic Life Support.

In 2017, he obtained a lifeguarding degree with PWD management training, and for the past two years, he has worked as an open sea lifeguard during the summer season.

In the last five years, he has taken part in numerous trainings with volunteers and citizens, as well as presentations in schools around Greece.
